Children's Vision
Examining young eyes is very important. Good visual development relies on each eye seeing well and of the two eyes working correctly together. If one eye has poor vision or is wandering and not lined up correctly the brain will quickly learn to use the good eye and a lazy eye may develop where the vision in the poor eye may become permanently reduced.
Early detection of eye problems means often that vision can be restored and visual development optimised. Plunket and pre-school screening are very good tools at picking up any abnormalities. Also if you suspect a visual problem or that your child’s eyes are not lining up properly we are here to help. This is very important for the new-born and pre-schoolers.
Children use their eyes for most of their learning experience. By ensuring clear and comfortable vision we can give our children the best from their eyes.
Our practice performs eye examinations for all ages, patching and spectacles, eye co-ordination and referrals for medical conditions.
